The true Satanic or Black Mass has been practiced in its Traditional and Gothic form since early Medieval Europe. During that time many Bishops and Priests of the Roman Catholic Church (as well as the infamous Order of Knights Templar) were accused as Heretics because of their Gnostic Doctrines and belief that the celebration of the Mass was actually a mystical rite that could be used in a variety of Magickal manners. Hence, from this lineage the first Satanic or Black Mass came into existence.
From these early Brotherhood members we now have many sources from which to derive the present Brotherhood form of the Black Mass. The Brotherhood of Satan at this present time still performs the Black Mass in the Traditional manner and draws the the roots of the Mass from Satanism, Black Order of Knight Templars, and the Gnostic Catholic Church.
Our Mass with its Sexual and Magickal overtones is a parody performed to blaspheme Christianity and create the proper channel (for the Brotherhood congregation) to receive the sacrament of the Body of Satanas; for us to have communion with the Demons that are both invoked and evoked within the performance of the Brotherhood of the Satanic Black Mass.
Due to the use of nudity, blood, Demonic Evocation, and sometimes the actual use of sex in its performance, the Brotherhood of Satan must require that only legal age members of the Brotherhood are allowed to attend.
